What We Do

We help build our community and connect local agencies.

We build relationships with families and community members & connect them to local support programs such as:

We coordinate resources with businesses, providers and local agencies to support families in the city of Lynn and act as a resource hub for all.

City of Lynn Summer Youth Employment Program

Each summer, the City of Lynn hosts the Summer Youth Employment Program to provide employment opportunities for Lynn Residents between the ages of 16-21.

MassHire North Shore Youth Career Center

Each summer, MassHire North Shore Youth Career Center hosts the F1rst Jobs Program which provides employment opportunities as well as job readiness training to youth in the North Shore area between the ages of 14-21.

The Family Resource Center

The Family Resource Center provides members of the community access to family support services such as:

  • Parenting Skills Workshops
  • Self-help Groups
  • Grandparent Groups
  • Financial Workshops
  • Education Programs
  • Family Events & Activities
  • Resource Referral Services

The Launch Program

Lynn Housing Authority & Neighborhood Development & United Way partner in hosting the Launch Program.  The Launch Program connects youth between the ages of 18-24 with opportunities and resources.

  • Education Readiness – Offering assistance with applying and preparing for further education. GED/HiSET or College
  • Skills Training – Provide youth with multiple training resources offered in the area for a variety of skills and trades
  • Employment Search – Assist in employment search and/or advancement in current field
  • Career Coaching – Meet with a career coach to explore different career paths or discuss employment opportunities
  • Resume Assistance – Offering assistance in creating or updating resume in order to seek employment
  • Financial Coaching – Meet with a financial coach to formulate a budget & reach financial goals
  • Credit Build/Repair – Pull your credit report with financial coach & brainstorm ideas and goals for building or repairing credit
  • English as a Second Language – Sign up for ESL classes to improve your English language
  • Rent Disregard – Launch offers a rent disregard during the time in which you are enrolled in the program

Realizing Intergenerational  Success Through Education (RISE)

Realizing Intergenerational  Success Through Education (RISE) is a program of Lynn Public Schools & Lynn Housing Authority & Neighborhood Development focused on helping families avoid housing instability and improve their access to education, financial opportunity, and family well-being.

RISE is a Lynn-based program designed to support families with children enrolled in the Lynn Public Schools who are either experiencing homelessness or facing any kind of challenge in maintaining their housing.

Services include but are not limited to:

For parents/guardians:

  • Securing affordable housing, avoiding homelessness
  • Basic budgeting support and help applying for benefits
  • Access to financial coaching for those interested in increasing savings & credit
  • Building employment skills & connecting with education or jobs
  • Connections to community programs to support overall health & well-being
  • Help navigating public school & community resources

For students:

  • Connections to educational & supportive services such as special education, transportation, back-to-school supplies, & more
  • Connections to other resources to support child well-being for students and their younger siblings
  • Access to after-school programs, enrichment programs, and summer camps
  • Help obtaining work or summer jobs for older youth
  • Planned and supported transfers, when necessary, to ensure educational continuity
